I am sure you would have heard it by now. You may have heard it on the television or perhaps the radio sometime today. The Crocodile Hunter himself, passed away at the age of 44. What a tragic day it is for Australia and the World.
He was a man who loved wildlife more than anything and would have done anything to save an animal. He took risks and I think that is what got him in the end. One too many risks. His luck lasted for a long time but I think it ran out on him.
Steve Irwin was killed today by a barb from a Stingray while shooting for a documentary about dangerous creatures. This is a rare death, I heard on the news that only three deaths were recorded from a stingray attack. That is how rare it was. It was a freak accident and the people on the boat said that there was no chance of him surviving.
He has two little children who I'm sure are confused as to what is happening. I feel very sorry for them. My condolences to Terry, Bindi and Bob who will be going through a very tough time as of now. Bindi was very fond of her father so I'm sure she will be heartbroken.
He was an Australian Icon. Even though many people disliked him, I'm sure they would all say that they would never want to see him die like that. What a horrible thing to happen. It is something you don't expect to hear.
Isn't it weird how people disliked the man while he was alive yet when he is dead, everyone loves him? It's sad but true. When something like this happens, it makes people act differently.
Well, Rest in Peace Mr. Crocodile Hunter.. you will be missed by many people. I hope the zoo isn't closed due to this, may it keep running so that people can go and pay their respects.
At least he died doing what he loved.
Steve Irwin
