This thread is for those people who wish to tell us where they are up to in the game and how their characters might be doing. Please don't post any spoilers otherwise you'll ruin it for those who haven't played much (me!).
I only got the game last Monday since it came out in Australia in late February. I was lucky enough to get it for my Birthday.
I have only played just over seven hours and am up to the part Vaan and the gang have to save Penelo from the mine. I can't remember the name of the place exactly lol but I'm sure people know what I'm talking about.
Post away. :D

Well at the moment I am up to the Tomb of Raithwall. I have only played a little bit today but have decided to do some more levelling up before I actually go into the tomb. My characters are on about level 14-16 at the moment and want them to be at least level 18 for this next part.
It sounds pretty difficult but hopefully I get there! I fought that boss that you see before you reach the tomb and thought it was very easy! I was expecting something hard. _________________

I'm currently at the Phom Coast. All my characters are exactly 26 level each. The Espers I have are Belias and Mateus. The last boss I've beaten is the King Bomb that was fairly easy. Three Quickenings were more than enough. By the way, all my characters have level 3 Quickenings apart from Balthier and Basch that are still on level 2.
Soon, I will continue with my progress. The only probem is that most of the times I'm too bored to touch that game, since its battle system doesn't impress me at all. _________________

That area is not that hard, and the Boss is not so difficult, though it uses lots of spells ;)
Right now I am still training betwee the Nabradias Deadlands and the Necrohol of Nabudis. (LV49) |

i decided to start again, well i dint realy have any choice as my memry card got wiped by my bro, anyways i just started and i am just trying to get some speed in my attacks befor going into the place. itskinbda fun to start again and do the hunts over as you find the monsters are so much easyer you know when to fight and when to run, its better, but if you can i would say stick to one file and get as far as you can! anouther thing i noticed is that your level doesn't really matter its more the eqipment that makes you stronger, level does contrabute but its eqipment that gives it the edge. _________________ i love ff8!!!!! forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and EVER!!!! |

well, this is the 2nd time I have gone through the game, I overwrote my file when I was trying to improve my brother's game, but now I am farther then I was before, I am lvl 51 (all 6 ppl), have a bunch of summons, workin on hunts right now, the one I just finished was Belito, and I have 77 hours into the game, and am working on lvling up and doing hunts, as well as, getting exp. My licence board is almost 100% on everyone except Ashe, and only her because I was using the Diamond armlet instead of the golden amulet. Now everyone Is using a bubble belt. I attempted the final boss (before I equipped bubble belts) and he slaughtered me.
