Out of all of the Final Fantasy games, which one do you think is the most underrated? Which one hasn't received as much attention as others? Some say it is Final Fantasy VIII, it never received as much attention as other Final Fantasy games. Or some may say one of the old school games since a lot of people got into the games at a later stage and missed out on the greats.
As for me, I would choose X-2 to be underrated. Lots of people go on about how bad it was, I didn't find it to be that bad at all. I haven't completed the game yet but so far I am really enjoying it. The storyline may not progress much but it's still cool. The battle system is awesome and I like the characters as well. I also think IV is underrated, it's a really cool game with an awesome storyline.
What about you guys? :D

Ashe, I also think that Final Fantasy X-2 is the most underrated Final Fantasy of all time. I have heard too many negative reactions about the game, and many have been calling it their least favorite Final Fantasy. I do not condone criticizing Final Fantasy X-2 for its T&A content, because such criticism is based on radical feminist dogma. I have also found that Final Fantasy X-2 is far from being as bad as those critics say it is.
Final Fantasy X had a mixed reception at the time of its original release, and thus it is controversial. It is not as bad as those critics say it is. It was criticized for its linearity, the voice performance of Hedy Burress and James Arnold Taylor, and unfairly for field contiguity. However, Final Fantasy X has been well-received since its Greatest Hits released. It was voted the greatest video game of all time by Famitsu readers.
Final Fantasy IV was my first Final Fantasy game. I played it for years, and it was not until 2000 that I played other Final Fantasy games. _________________ Tedius Zanarukando, holy paladin from Zanarkand Ruins

It seems that we all agree on this.
FFX-2 for me, too.
Well, I admit that it surely wasn't one of the best but it had some good points. The graphics were realistic and the battle system was much better that the one in FFX. However, if the player had choices for characters to pick from, and if each character had his/her very own abilities and not Dresspheres it would have certainly been an awesome game.
However, some people represent it as a useles piece of s*** that has nothing good on it, and that's totally wrong. That FF game just doesn't exist. There is not a bad game in this series. _________________

well there are 2 that stick out to me as underrated...
FFX-2... well that one has already been stated why.. I mean personally... i loved the dressphere system. Since it is much like the job system in FFV, my fave FF I loved that system, story was okay, chars were.... well FF chars and the music was.... different, almost disco. FFX-2 was, in my oppinion better then FFVII, much better.
and OBVIOUSLY FFV, Im not going to go into details why, because if you really wanna know more details, look at my other posts, they are filled with answers why i think it should be rated higher then what it was like in other people's oppinions _________________ I am now 2000 points away from top on Reptillia on GH3 on the PS3, currently 6th place of all PS3 Reptillia players

FFX-2. Basically, what everyone else said, but to avoid being warned for spamming:
I think everybody put FFX up on a pedastal, so they had these high expectations of the sequel. FFX-2 is a good game, just not as good as everybody expected it to be. No better than X. Worse, actually. Still by any standards a good game. Underrated. _________________

I sometimes find Final Fantasy VI to be underrated as well, it's another of my favorites but a lot of people seem to talk badly of it.. well from what I hear anyway. It's such a classic game and I very much enjoyed it. It might not be the least appreciated but I think it deserves some more. It has a lovely storyline, cast of characters and a beautiful soundtrack. VII seems to get all the attention but VI deserves it as well.
