Out of all of the characters that you can use in your party, which one do you believe was the most useless? I believe their were a couple in that group that I found to be rather unhelpful when it came to battling. Kimahri was a character I didn't use very much because he didn't really have any abilities that I liked, he also wasn't very strong either. Lulu was barely useful to me either, the only time I used her was when I had to battle an elemental enemy. Rikku was the other character I only used a little amount compared to a few others, the only thing I liked about her fighting was her overdrive.. that was cool!

Who do you believe was the most useless character/s?

Lulu, low HP low magic power (compared to Yuna) and her ultimate weapon was a lot harder then most to get.

Maybe it doesn't help I got dblcast and ultima on both.... but only Yuna has her ultimate weapon..... doing 15000-30000x2 dmg each round costing 2 mana, whereas lulu cast it twice, using 180 mana and it's 9999x2 damage... Lulu wasn't great in dmg

Lulu also had really low HP, I am fighting and everything killed her in one hit, until now that I brought up her HP to 3600 or something like that.... where Auron now has 12k hp with the HP break limit item I found going through the omega dungeon..... most of the other chars have 9999 hp

in my game.... LULU IS COMPLETELY USELESS.... lol

I also thought that Lulu was pretty useless at times. It might have been because I didn't use her that often, but she seemed to be really slow, have really low defense (she died pretty much in one hit.), low attack and low magic attack compared to Yuna like DragonMaster said. I think that she could have been a better character.

Even though I thought Lulu was pretty useless, Kimahri would have to be even more useless. He was pretty bad at everything. No matter what you decided to have him do, he was just horrible compared any other character doing the same thing. The only thing he had going for him was his limit, but you only can use limits so often in this game.

I thought Lulu was quite useless, also. Both in character and in battle. Although I'm assuming this topic is about battle.. So:

I found that when the abilities along her line in the sphere grid were actually better done when I gave them to other characters. Honestly, even Rikku was a better black mage than her. She really only got used in extreme emergancies for me.

As the others have said. Lulu starts great (amongst the best) but slowly becomes redundant as a few black mage spheres make Yuna a far better spell caster. Khimari, if not sent along Auron's path, can become pretty useless himself, but Lulu is useless no matter what path she goes down.

Personally I think this is a silly topic to discuss, as you can make the characters in this game exactly how you want them to be, thanks to the sphere grid. The only things you can't change are Yuna's summons (giving her an edge overall) and the characters overdrives.

That being said, I guess we can discuss this topic on a personal level, as if you don't train one character like the rest, they won't be as good. In my games I ALWAYS end up with Wakka, Auron and Tidus being my main (I can't help it). Lulu is always a strong fourth (I love her character. But her celestial weapon is incredibly difficult to acquire :(). Yuna and Rikku never, ever get any use in my saves until at the very end when I am training everyone. Yuna only gets used at the start thanks to her aeons usefulness in the early boss battles.

I'm going to start a new game for FFX soon, and experiment with making Yuna like Tidus straight off (haste, slow and stuff), Kimahri the white mage, and i'll keep Lulu as black mage. <3 Lulu. Hoping this will make Yuna's aeons physically more powerful (as their stats rely directly on Yuna's, yeah?)
