There are many strange or different names in the Final Fantasy series and a lot of people seem to say them differently to others. So I am asking you how you prefer to pronounce the names of the characters you know and like. Create a list here if you wish, I thought this might be a little fun.

I'll start off with Tidus, most of us know that the correct pronunciation is 'Tee-dus' but I prefer to say it as 'Tye-dus'. It sounds a lot better that way in my opinion.

Terra: Terror.. that's how I say it.

Irvine: I say it 'Er-veen'. It just sounds better that way and I have always said it like that since I started playing the game.

Tifa: Tee-fah, I have heard some people say 'Tiff-ah'.

Wakka: Wuh-kar, you know how Fozzie bear says it? Lol1 Wokka wokka wokka!

Cecil: Seh-sill, I don't think it's said like that but I don't really care. I know someone with that name and it's said how I spelt it.

Rydia: Rid-ia, quite simple really lol.

Krile: Krill or Kreel? I'm not sure about that one. I say it as 'Krill' anyway, just sounds good that way! :P

Yuffie: Yoo-fee. I heard it as 'Yuff-ee' Yuff sounding like rough. It might be the right way to say it but it sounds kind of weird to me! Yoo-fee sounds better imo.

If you can think of any others that you like to pronounce differently or ones you might find confusing, please post them here. A lot of people pronounce these differently so I would like to hear how members here say them. We can see how many varieties of names we can get!

That's good and all but perhaps you might want to add more content to your posts next time.

Some of the names annoy me because their exact pronunciations are silly to me lol, I refuse to pronounce some of the names correctly because they sound rather stupid in my opinion. Like Tee-dus, I don't like the way that sounds at all so I say it as Tye-dus like many other people do!

Balthier: Bal - thee - air
Vaan: Varn (I don't know if anybody says it as Van or what)Lol1
Shiva: I've always said it as 'Sh-ee-va', don't know why but I don't think it's right. I think it is pronounced 'Shiver' or something like that!
Ifrit: I say it as it looks.. If - rit. I think I have heard it as 'If - reet' though.

the only thing about what you said that I do not say is Vaan.... I actually say Vaan... not Varn

I have never heard Shiva being Shiver..... but the Ifrit..... they DID pronounce it as a Ifreet on FFXII airship

now my question is..... How would you pronounce Technichs? just like Techniques or tech-niks?
