Okay, I know a lot of people love the newer Final Fantasy games from VII and onwards. I also know that there are many old school gamers who like the older Final Fantasy games from I-VI. If you could choose which games you liked better, which one would you go for? The older games may not have the best graphics but they do have wonderful storylines. The newer games have better graphics but some people aren't too keen on the storylines.
As for me, I think I would have to go with the newer games. I started off with Final Fantasy VIII and thought it was such a great game. It had an entertaining storyline and plus the graphics were pretty amazing. I haven't played IX but I have played X and thought that was also fantastic.
The older FF games are great too but it would have been better probably if I played them when they first came out, I never got the chance to! :(
What about you guys?

I would have to say I like both. I love the classics, for their story lines and depth of character. Yet I also like the newer ones because of the better graphics and voices.
Although both have their ups and downs, I couldn't choose a favorite out of them. I enjoy playing both old and new, so I can't say that I believe that they should have left some of the older without sequals. I my self am looking forward to the remake of FF 7 and enjoy some of the sequals I have seen so far. ^_^ _________________

I like both. The older ones, like IV, had a really interesting storyline and of course the feeling of old-school. To tell the truth, Final Fantasy IV is my favourite. I like everything on it. The battle system, the characters, the storyline and more.
The newer ones, like Final Fantasy VIII, that is my second favourite, still have interesting plot, better graphics and very nice music.
Although someone might think that this will make them far better than the older the truth is that, at least in my opinion, not all of the new ones are like VIII. X for example is the worst I've ever played. I prefer the characters with no voices because that let's you imagine it and not listen to characters with annoying (*cought*Wakka*cought*) voice. Moreover, X was more of a movie if you ask me. Too many cutscenes and very little action. _________________

I like both old school and new school, for I love all Final Fantasy. There is a possibility that old school Final Fantasy games will be remade as new school. Final Fantasy X is my favorite Final Fantasy game of all time, while Final Fantasy XII is a close second. Final Fantasy X had a mixed reception, and the game and its sequel X-2 have been highly underrated. Final Fantasy IV is the first Final Fantasy game I ever played. I first played it four years after it first came out and two years before Final Fantasy VII first came out. By the time Final Fantasy X was released, I began to play Final Fantasy games besides IV. Final Fantasy X is the first Final Fantasy game I actually bought. I received Final Fantasy I-VI by other means. _________________ Tedius Zanarukando, holy paladin from Zanarkand Ruins

I like both generations of Final Fantasy. However, there are some I can really question. I say around the middle of the whole series would be the best portion of Final Fantasy's work overall. I enjoyed playing Final Fantasy 6, it gave a classic yet solid feel of Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy 7 was a knock out for me, the best Final Fantasy for it's storyline. And my particular favourite, Final Fantasy 8!, for it's love story. Final Fantasy 5 and under were alright but I didn't have the same feel for them. And I don't know about Final Fantasy 9 and above, I didn't have much interest in them either. I don' know if they started getting lazy or what, especially after seeing how X-2 came out. Don't get me wrong, I love all Final Fantasy games nonetheless. I just have high expectations xD _________________

All of them....but of course I have a little more fun playing these new ones since the graphics are getting better and better...
still what's more important to me in the games are the storylines and they were wonderful since the beggining....(Ô.ô....im randomly writing cause the only old school ones I played were FF1 and FFTA XD...if Ta is old school....) _________________
