The Final Fantasy series in general

Pros:
Lots of memorable music
Music worth playing on a musical instrument
Versatile musicians
Realistic 3D graphics
Evolving gameplay throughout the installments
Most widely distributed RPG series
Excellent regional decision record (All regional missteps regarding the Final Fantasy series have been resolved.)
Excellent casts
Excellent and intriguing stories
Mostly positive reviews
My favorite installment (Final Fantasy X) of the series was voted by Famitsu readers as the best video game of all time.
An installment of the series is most likely to receive a perfect score from Famitsu.

Cons:
Divided fanbase
I had to give up religion for Final Fantasy.
Mixed reactions after Final Fantasy VII
My favorite installment of the series and its sequel had a mixed reception

Final Fantasy I

Pros:
The first game of the series
Very original
The game that saved Squaresoft from bankruptcy
Excellent remake
Excellent remix of the soundtrack (from chipmusic to FF9 quality arranged music)
Memorable story

Cons:
Original graphics outdated
Soundtrack was originally chipmusic
Original NES gameplay does not appeal to the modern audience.

Final Fantasy II

Pros:
The first of the series to have a complex story
The first of the series to have named playable characters
Addictive leveling system
Excellent remake
Excellent remix of the soundtrack (from chipmusic to FF9 quality arranged music)

Cons:
Not as well-received in the U.S. as in Japan
Original game play does not appeal to modern audience.
Too many storyline deaths
The destruction of Altair, Gatea, Paloom, and Poft
A potentially offensive enemy name in NES fan translation
Original game play does not appeal to modern audience.

Final Fantasy III

Pros:
Very memorable soundtrack
The first in the series to have a job class
2D to 3D remake
Excellent remix of the soundtrack (from chipmusic to FF9 quality arranged music)
Introduced auto-target

Cons:
Original game play does not appeal to modern audience.
Death of Aria

Final Fantasy V

Pros:
Introduced turn gauge into Active Time Battle
Refined the job class
Memorable soundtrack

Cons:
Mixed reception
Mediocre graphics (for an SNES game)
Storyline was moody

Final Fantasy VI

Pros:
Very well-received at the time of its release
Active Time Battle
Excellent graphics (for an SNES game; FF6 was praised for its graphics at the time of original release)
Very memorable soundtrack (This soundtrack was Nobuo Uematsu's favorite job.)
Two-sided battles
Linear gradient text boxes
Excellent story

Cons:
Sad plot twists
