This has been discussed at many message boards now. Many people believe that Rinoa is actually Ultimecia. Others believe that it cannot be possible. I believe it is quite possible. There is plenty of evidence to prove that she could be. I'm not saying that she is Ulty but the evidence is pretty convincing. I believe that this would be a very interesting topic to discuss right here.

Take a look at this picture, they look very similar. The only thing that looks different is that Ultimecia's face is a little thinner than Rinoa's. They do seem to look alike.

Above are a few different theories about Rinoa being Ultimecia. These are very interesting, don't you think? I believe that it could be a possibility but there is nothing stated in the game about Rinoa and Ultimecia being the same person. The information I have read about it makes it seem that she is but it is unknown.

Maybe the whole lot is just coincidence but some of the facts that have been stated in the website above seem really suspicious. I really like the idea that Rinoa is Ulty, it makes the game a lot more interesting. :EvilLaugh:

What do you all think about this? Do you believe she is Ultimecia? Or do you think this whole theory is crazy? :D

Achually i have thought about this alot and i think that -

rino is a socorres, at the end of the game, she is the only sorsorres in her time, so i belive that eventually once rina dies her powers were passed on....some reason i'm thinking her and squalls dautghtre... and i think that as squall's desire to protect every one and his incredable power transferd his oul into the greiver key chain, making him a gf, whitch i think that their daughter took with her.

and so on and so forth through out the genorations......eventuall leading to ultimacia.

so i think that ultimacia is not rinoa, but her decendat, it also explaines why they look so simaler!!!

o an the daughter theory, i just chucked that in, could be anyone.lol

That's a very interesting theory beniboo. I didn't even think that Rinoa and Ultimecia could have been the same person until a few months ago. I read theories on another message board and saw the possibility that she could be evil. The theories are all interesting and link to Rinoa and Ultimecia somehow. It's probably not true that they are the same person but it's just a really interesting topic.

Who else has opinions or ideas on this?

I've heard of this topic before. I have to say that I think it's very possible. I mean when Squall gets old and dies she may become sad and become bitter and corrupted over time, and eventually turn to well Ultemicia. I think she is supposed to be Rinoa, though Square will never give a defenite answer on it.

You have to admit though that the theories people made are really interesting and they make you think. It would have been great if we had found out whether she was or not. Since they did not, maybe there is no link between the two of them. The facts do kind of add up though if you think about it. The whole Griever thing makes me believe that it's possible that they are the same person or related in some way!

Is not 100% that Rinoa might be Ultimacia for some reasons. First, Ultimacia is from different timeline than Rinoa, probably more than three thousand years and I doubt that Rinoa could have lived that long. Second, even if Rinoa does have a child with Squall that doesn't necessary means that her powers would be passed to her daughter, the sorceress are chosen at random, dependng on some factors like magical power, links to previous sorceress, and other facts that I don't know right now.

But there is also the possibility to think that Rinoa might be Ultimacia. Sorceress age slowly or maybe they just don't age at all. It may be possible to think that Ultimacia is just a possible representation of Rinoa being consumed by hatred and sadness. Let's say that Squall died at the ending, with both him and Rinoa lost between time. He died because Rinoa couldn't save him and then she began to hate the world and everything related to it because of the sorceress and all that. She got lost on a different timeline, probably a a thousand years into the future away from all her friends. Let's say that after losing Squall, she developed a hatred so great that changed her main reason to live.

But, then again, someone asked the big boys in Japan from Square-Enix about Rinoa being Ultimacia and they answered: "Rinoa is not Ultimacia."
