I've never heard of Wicca before. What is the base of the beliefs?
I'm just a plain Buddhist, but I really don't act the way I'm supposed to. I am not peaceful or calm in any way, so I don't count as much.

it is bassed on being and understanding nature. christians call wiccans witches and really dislike them. the problem is that i'm a christian and i now want to join wicca but my nana would really lose it if i tell her and i am closer to her then any other person in the family. but i'm going to join wicca for the fact that i can if i like it i will join if not then i wont.

I'm Christian in that I believe in the Christian God, but I also believe in understanding or at least making the attempt to understand others and their beliefs. I don't see Wicca practitioners as evil witches or anything, no I see them and what they do as something grand. From the basics I've seen it appears they wish to protect the natural balance, and I believe that is a quality sadly lacking in many of the people of today.
I may be Christian, but I also believe a few things that have roots elsewhere. Things such as karma. And I see karma in that if a person does do a lot of evil, chances are unless they're superhuman in destroying their tracks, they WILL get caught out one day. Like an unruly gangster wannabe getting caught out by vigilantes. Or a hardened criminal who drops the soap.
And the next big thing I believe in is the power of humans. While it may seem my beliefs conflict a little, I honestly believe that every single human has it in them to be the best person they can be. All they have to do is strive for it. That said, if everyone was goodly in nature things may even end up worse. FOr there would be differences of opinions still, and no way for an answer to be reached.
I believe that without good there is no evil and without chaos there can be no law as law exists solely to inhibit chaos. As good and evil are relative in nature, without one the other would not exist in a definable term.

I don't really follow any religion because I was not brought up to be religious. My Mum was brought up to go to church every Sunday and even Sunday school so I suppose you could say their family was rather religious. I'm not sure about my Dad though, I don't think his family were big believers like my Mum's side. They never raised me to be religious, I do believe in God though. I don't follow a particular religion, I like the idea of believing in whatever I want and not being forced to believe in everything a certain religion tells you to. I was never baptized either, nor was my Brother actually so yeah.
Having the freedom to believe in whatever you want is nice. Sometimes you get religions forcing their beliefs down your throat making you believe in whatever they say. Another thing that annoys me is religious people telling you that your beliefs are wrong, that angers me so much. I know someone like that at TFF and it really bothered me. I won't name names lol but the freedom is nice. Nobody is truly wrong.

I am not religious at all. I used to go to church when I was a kid. I have read the whole bible from cover to cover. There are some pretty interesting stories in there, but they seem a little far-fetched. And most of them can be explained with a little help from science. If I had to follow a religion then I would probably be a Buddhist as this is the closest example of how I live my life. However, I am a believer in logic. I don't believe in a heaven or hell, or a god or a devil. Once in a while I like to get into religious debates with people that are overly religious. And I also get pissed off at people who tear pages out of the bible or burn it.
BTW Aerith I hope I'm not the one from TFF that you are talking about because I know I can be a wee bit harsh when it comes to religion.

Haha no, it's definitely not anybody from this forum. Actually it was two people who loved to make sure they told people they were wrong in their beliefs and argued with anybody who believed different to them. I couldn't stand them because of it, I even had a go at them at one stage but you just couldn't win. I stated that I am entitled to believe what I want without them telling me otherwise. I just don't like them doing that at all.
Heaven and hell.. I used to believe in it when I was younger but nowadays I am not so sure. There might not be anything at all after we die. I would like to think these places exist but.. you just don't know!

Personally, I do not follow a religion, allthough I do know someone who IS Wicca, he's taught me a lot of different Wicca beleifs, like on Halloween and other holidays, I forgot what he told me... .but he did tell me something about Hallooween in Wicca....
I have a lot of christian freinds (big suprise there eh lol) In fact almost all of my freinds are christian, but I have a freind who doesn't know what he says about religion and likes to say that all religions are stupid.... personally, I disagree.... because I agree with a mix of different beliefs of religions,
If I had a religion.... I would be totally mixed..... so it's really hard to say

I don't have a religion. I was christened/baptized/whatevered as a Presbyterian but I've never practiced it. It's not so much a dislike of religion or lack of belief, it's just something that's never been a part of my life. I think at this point even if I did find an interest in any particular religion, the simple fact that I've spent the first 20+ years of my life without any spiritual guidance/beliefs would be too great an obstacle to overcome.
But really, that's ok. I'm content as I am.
