You favourite Final Fantasy game? What is your favourite Final Fantasy game out of the series? There are plenty to choose from and I know there will be plenty of different opinions so I'm curious to know which one is your favorite.
Mine is Final Fantasy VIII. It had a wonderful storyline and a unique group of characters. I bought this as my first RPG game a few years ago. I was actually planning on purchasing FFVII first but I couldn't find it anywhere at the game store. I bought VIII instead and I was so glad I did. I found it to be very addictive and the storyline never got boring.
The battles were a challenge at times and I really liked how the Junction system worked. It was difficult to use at first but it was really effective at times. The bosses in the game were sometimes a bit of a challenge, also some of the enemies even were! The weapons in the game were unique and very powerful, they also looked awesome.
What about you guys? :Wha?:

VIII would be mine as well. It had the story, characters, music, and the whole aura that I loved about it. it went from a war story to an inner struggle between a lonely person and his growing feelings of love. So with that plus my favorite junctioning system I'd defenitely say that VIII's the one for me.

My favorite Final Fantasy game is none other than Final Fantasy X, as my username implies. Final Fantasy X had a mixed reception at the time of its original release. I enjoy the Final Fantasy X OST the most, especially the orchestral rendition of Suteki Da Ne. I like the Conditional Time Battle system, such as the feature of switching between characters during battle, which cannot be done in Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy X also has a great take on religion. The relationship between Tidus and Yuna is very unique.

I remember the day, years ago, when my older brother brought home his friends copy of Final Fantasy VIII. I remember laying on his bed {this was unusual because he hardly ever let me in his room} and watching him play it. I was still fairly new to gaming and had never seen one quite like it.
It wasn't long before I decided I wanted to play but since he wouldn't let me play so I gathered my allowance and, after much hardship and disappointment, got my own copy.
I remember the chills I got watching the opening and hearing Liberi fatali playing over my televisions speakers, I remember realizing that I was about to experiance something that was tottaly unlike anything I had experienced before.
The game seduced me with it's musical score, graphics, intelligent gameplay, characters, and story.
Squall was a character that I quickly came to empathize with. He was like me in many ways. I truly identified with him. I had a crush on Rinoa, one that influences my vision of my perfect match to this day. I loved Zell, Selphie, and Quistis. Thoroughly disliked Seifer and Irvine. Though, Irvine has since grown on me and become one of my favorite characters.
The thing I really liked about the game was the fact that, all this..stuff going on, this epic struggle, is just a backdrop for the true focus of the game.
Squall and Rinoa.
The game was a love story. It was about those two falling in love, and struggling to hold onto that love in a world that seems determined to pull them apart.
I love that game.

FFV.... as you all probably know..
Job system- Awesome.. especiallly the fact that you can pretty much combine your units... it allows for a very high variety in strategy
Chars- WOW.... i mean people say they are dry....... is a char who pretends to be the oppisite gender an old feature in a FF game?
story - not the greates story... it's basically stop a guy that some other guys locked away... and the guy got free.... kinda an old style of bad guy.... he's evil... but instead of him appearing alter on as the 3rd or 4rth major bad guy... he's the 1st major bad guy
graphics- why did i put this topic i don't know... the graphics suck.... but it is a SNES game... it wasn't actually developed for the playstation.....
music- it's a FF game... therefore the music was great...... almost all FF music is great...... you can't say you don't like most of the FF music.... unless you don't like awesome... lol only jk... but still the black mages are great

It was the First in the final fantasy line
and my first real RPG
I remember putting it in my PSONE and the intro came
oooh my god the music the graphics it was so perfect and then
Seifer and Squall fighting and Rinoa in the field
and then BAM you where on the bed and they ask you your name
and then I knew it I became a slave of final fantasy VIII
I was 11 years old and even now 7 years later that moment stil makes me smile

I've always said, and I will always come with the same answer; FFVIII is by far the best FF I've ever played. I loved the junctioning system and I don't find it THAT complicated as many people says, come on it only takes a couple of minutes to get used to Junctioning. Also I loved the Intro of FFVIII in which we have that cool background music exposing the game's theme while we witness a clash of two expert gunbladers, Squall anf Seifer. 8-)

I'll say FFVII because simply the story is unmatchable, in my opinion.
The characters are some of the most memorable in the series, and Aeris' death only heightens its appeal.
Moreover, it's developed a large fanbase, me included, because of the reasons provided above.
The materia system, in my opinion, was the easiest system to get used to.
